About Jackhammer • Chicago • 21+
Built on legacy. Still evolving.
For more than 20 years, Jackhammer has been part of Chicago’s LGBTQIA+ nightlife story — a Rogers Park bar shaped by leather, gear, kink, fetish, community, self-expression, and the people who keep showing up as themselves.
Our story
A neighborhood bar with history, edge, and a changing community at its center.
Jackhammer has never been just one thing. It is a bar, a dance floor, a patio, a late-night stop, a leather and gear-friendly gathering place, and a home base for people who want nightlife that feels honest, expressive, and rooted in community.
Located at 6406 N. Clark Street in Rogers Park, Jackhammer has grown with Chicago’s LGBTQIA+ communities for more than two decades. The bar’s identity has expanded over time, becoming more intentionally inclusive of different identities, bodies, expressions, scenes, and generations while still honoring the leather, gear, kink, and fetish communities that helped shape its legacy.
That evolution shows up in the people behind the bar, the customers who make the space feel alive, and the events and programming that bring together locals, North Side neighbors, IML visitors, out-of-town travelers, and international guests looking for a real Chicago night out.

Multiple ways to belong
Grab a drink, hang on the patio, play a game, dance late, meet friends, or head downstairs to The Hole for a darker, louder and side of the night.
No-attitude energy
The point is not to impress the room. The point is to find your people, respect the space, and let the night become about your self expression.
