Jackhammer, located at 6406 N. Clark Street in Chicago’s diverse Rogers Park neighborhood, has been serving the broader LGBTQIA+ communities for over 20 years, creating and preserving a safe space for exploration, education, leisure and community engagement for visitors throughout Chicagoland and across the globe. Spread over multiple levels including an outdoor patio, Jackhammer draws a diverse cross-section of people from the LGBTQIA+ communities and those interested in learning and experiencing various aspects of those communities.
With its late-night license and large dance floor, Jackhammer is the go-to bar for the broader LGBTQIA+ community until 4am (5am on Saturdays). And free pool and free darts are always available.
Jackhammer is proud to be an important part of Chicago’s LGBTQIA+ history and future. In the tradition of the great community bars and following the history of pioneering gay leather bars, welcomes a diverse clientele through engaging and unique programming, entertainment, and educational series, a friendly customer-focused team, and a comfortable, yet modern space.
On a typical day you will find Jackhammer occupied by a diverse mix of the global LGBTQIA+ community and their friends seeking a safe, no-attitude space. We are and always will be a place for people to come and be themselves.
